Friday 20th September, Kyoto.
I was made aware yesterday that the oldest person to have officially cycled 18,000 miles round the world is aged 56. Dermot Higgins, an Irishman I believe. A youngster a whole 8 years younger than me. (Thanks for the information Paul Llewelyn Franklin).
Unfortunately I won’t be able to claim the crown as one of the requirements is that the cycling is continuous. On the unsupported ride I’ve had a few train rides and flights, all planned, to get across riskier areas.
Never mind it’s still been a fantastic experience.
