Wednesday 4th September 2019, Toyohashi.
A day rather like yesterday. Hot, humid, with less climb but a headwind and some excitement. Travelling along a main road, not a motorway, a lorry stopped me and explained that bikes weren’t allowed on this bit of road. Fortunately the driver spoke quite a bit of English! He said to put the bike on the back of the lorry and he would take me to where I could cycle.
I learnt that the road I had been cycling along allowed bikes on some parts. Had a cycle track on some parts, which I had been using. But some sections on which bikes weren’t allowed. These were signed as not allowing pedestrians with international graphic symbols but only said bikes weren’t allowed in Japanese. Where’s the logic in that!
