Holbrook

Wednesday 12th June 2019, Holbrook.
A short 60 kms today determined by the location of accommodation on the route. But what a fascinating day. Came across the first 9/11 memorial I’ve seen made with two steel girders from the World Trade Centre. Then the earliest Mormon settlement in Arizona, Joseph City, named after Joseph Smith the Mormon prophet. Started seeing my first fossilised trees. I cross the Petrified Forest tomorrow. Then to cap it all I witnessed some real Indian dancing in the evening. This was not so much put on for tourists but more to retain their cultural identity.
Another wonderful day.
