Sunday 26th May 2019, Los Angeles, USA.
A 41 hour day crossing the dateline.
Stated off by going to the morning service at St. Andrews cathedral in Sydney. As I walked in I realised that there was something special going on, it was the annual Australian “Sorry Day” for the treatment of the Aboriginals and also the centenary of the founding of the Bush Church Aid Society. A privilege to be there and a lot of things that I had seen on my travels across Australia were put into perspective.
Then the flight from Sydney to LA via Brisbane. A few minor hiccups on the way. They wouldn’t let me check in without a flight already booked out of the US so I had to quickly book one of those. Then there was a data problem involving the connecting flights. Finally the automated checks carried out on arrival in LA said that I wasn’t entitled to enter the US but this was rapidly sorted out by a member of staff.
So now settling into LA for a few days before setting off cycling again. I have 90 days to cross the USA!
