Tuesday 19th February 2019, Kaiping.
Rain again today but not all day and no thunderstorms although they were forecast.
I’ve said numerous times before that you never know what is going to happen. Today rather than cycle directly to my destination I decided to take the scenic route through Chikan a picturesque, historic town. As I approached it became difficult as many roads were closed off and there was lots of demolition work going on. Eventually I managed to locate it but was prevented from going any further by security men. Fortunately one security guy indicated a way in and I discovered a ghost town. The whole 50,000 population has moved and the town is being renovated / reconstructed. It was both fascinating and wierd at the same time. Much more interesting than a cycle through a picturesque town of which I’ve had any number.
