Ascent to Munnar

Monday 19th November, Munnar.

Well it was another of those days. The mountain ascent to the tea plantations turned into the third highest daily ascent at 1,400m of climb. This was up some pretty rough roads and tracks.
Then after lunch the thunderstorm started real monsoon intensity rain. There were some wonderful panoramic views, I’m told, but you couldn’t see anything because of the rain and the mist.
Arriving at my hotel in Munnar it wasn’t there. It was 15km away along a very up and down mountain track. It was also starting to get dark. The location details were wrong on both the booking website and Google maps. Was able to get a taxi to take me and the bike there.
