Friday 22nd June. A good day’s ride of 30 miles, in the circumstances. Nice sunny day but would have been much better without a nasty headwind. Still the leg held up well with the much shorter distance, longer rest periods, an adjusted cycling position and a bandaged leg. Another 30 miles tomorrow to Tours.
Thursday 21st June. Well the left leg not so good this morning so decided not to cycle today. Also to halve the distance to 30 miles for the next couple of days and see how it copes with that. Bit like a game of snakes and ladders and I’ve just gone down a snake! So … More Rest and Recuperation
Wednesday 20th June. An even sunnier day and a good ride to Poitiers. Had a quick look round Poitiers, the Palace of the Counts of Poitou, Norte Dame la Grande, which is a beautiful Romanesque church and the cathedral.
